The Montecristo Red in Robusto. Hi, I’m Bryan Glynn with Tonight, we’re taking a look at this 5 by 50 [cig],
coming in with a dark tan wrapper. It’s got a slight spongy give. It’s nice and even, though. Very buttery soft feel to it. Few small [inaudible 00:20]
here and there. Nice tight seams, great looking triple cap. It’s got a faint cedar aroma. Very nice smell. All right, let’s go ahead and get it cut up and start toasting.

Right away, a perfect draw. (Bits of my tongue here.) Very smooth, grassy, but not bitter flavor. Bit of a cedar flavor. Great smell off the foot. It’s just a nice almost like a pipe tobacco smell, very aromatic smoke. Mild-bodied, very soft, very smooth; just nice soft flavors coming off of it so far. All right, great start. Let it heat up, get into the first third, hope the dogs stop barking, and see how it develops.

We’re about 20 minutes in, well into the first third here. Flavor-wise, it’s up to medium-body, very much like the first light flavors. It’s a smooth, creamy-textured wood flavor. Very subtle, very soft, slightly oily. Pretty short, clean finish. It’s just kind of the same wood flavor, and it’s starting to fade right now. Beautiful smoke production, plenty of it, not especially thick, but not airy, either. Ash is holding it nice and tight. Burn is just about razor-sharp, no complaints there, and an absolutely perfect draw. Pretty one-dimensional, but if you’re looking for a smooth wood smoke, this might be perfect for you. I would imagine you would probably get 45-50 minutes out of it, and at this rate, we’re almost to the second third, so I’ll be back if we get any further changes through the second third, which I doubt we’re going to. Typically, these Montecristos are pretty consistent from start to finish. We’ll see what it’s like around the band point.

Just a quick little update, here, about 35 minutes in, just past the halfway point, not quite to the last third. There are absolutely no changes, which I kind of expected, just from the brand in general, being really consistent. This is proving to be just the same. Excellent construction, though, perfect draw, lots of nice creamy smoke output, almost razor-sharp burn; haven’t had to give it a moment’s thought. The ash actually held on right until the halfway point, one nice big solid chunk, so very nice there. Flavor-wise, still medium-bodied. Nice and smooth, creamy texture, short finish. Great stick just to relax with. We’ll see if we get any changes just as we finish it out.

All right, we’re one hour in here, down to the nub, it’s finally getting too warm for my tastes, so I’ll be ending it. Overall, very one-
dimensional, very consistent from beginning to end, no flavor changes whatsoever, which is fine if this is what you’re looking for. If you like a nice, smooth, medium-bodied creamy wood flavor, this is going to be right up your alley. These aren’t terribly expensive sticks, you can find them all over the place, and performance was excellent. Absolutely perfect construction, great ash, great burn, perfect draw. No complaints whatsoever.

Thank you very much to viewer Jeremy Plough [SP] for generously sending me this for review. Greatly appreciate it, brother. This has been the Montecristo Red in Robusto. I’m Bryan Glynn with, don’t forget to subscribe, and we’ll see you next time.
