We found a review of one of rocky patel’s cigars that we feel is representative of the experience of smoking a rocky; the Vintage 1990 Churchill. Find the review and a transcript below. The review is taken from youtube’s smokingcigargirl’s channel. Visit her channel for superb cigar reviews.

Hi. I’m Nada, with Smoking Cigar Girl. Today, I’m going to be reviewing the Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 Churchill. It’s a 7×48 box-pressed cigar, with a Honduran broadleaf wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and a combination of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos for the filler. The cigar has a slightly dry appearance to it. It’s medium-brown in most parts but has some darker brown spots, and a couple of visible veins.

The aroma of this cigar has some cinnamon-ness to it. The pre-light draw is earthy with some cocoa notes. There’s definitely some spicy notes on the front of the palette with this cigar; some cinnamon, and there’s a very smooth finish, slightly earthy. I’ll be back in a few minutes to discuss the first third of this cigar.

The first third of this cigar has some pleasant cinnamon and chocolate notes on the front of the palette, the finish is a very smooth cedary flavor. The draw on this cigar so far, is excellent, as is the burn, though the ash has been falling off frequently on its own, so I would recommend frequent ashing.

The flavors in the second third of this cigar have changed to a much more earthy flavor on the front of the palette, with a very light hint of cinnamon, and the finish is still very cedary, with a bit of black pepper.

The final third of this Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 Churchill has had a lot of coffee flavors on the front of the palette, with an occasional hint of sweetness. The finish is still a little bit cedary, but not as much as before, a lot of earth and an occasional hint of black pepper. The cigar has been a medium-bodied cigar and a medium strength cigar, as well, so it really would be OK to smoke any time of day. It would go best with a coffee in the morning, or a coffee liqueur or a chocolate liqueur to help bring out some of that sweetness.

I’d like to thank Russell [inaudible: 03:12] for requesting this cigar. If you have any comments on this review, or if you’d like to see me review anything else in the future, I’d love to hear from you.
